Quality vs Quantity

Probably one of the biggest debates when looking to purchase something.

Do I buy something that is mass produced, only has a short lifetime and isn’t 100% what I want?

Or do I spend a little bit more and get something that’s going to last me a lifetime, is made to my exact requirements and finally get my long-term solution?

We know how easy it is to opt for the cheaper option, but we also know how much you end up saving if you just buy right the first time round. So actually, the cheaper option… doesn’t seem all that cheap.

Which would you say is the cheaper option? Although they are different bearings I think it’s pretty obvious, the second.

On the left is a geared 250mm BPD customised bearing. This was made bespoke for one of our customers to fit into their application back in October.
